The Associates degree in Early Childhood Education is designed to serve as a foundation for a baccalaureate degree. It also prepares the students for positions in Early Education Centers and qualifies them to teach preschool in Christian, private, or public classrooms and centers around the world.
Upon completion of this program students should be able to:
1. Demonstrate proficiency in curriculum areas taught in preschool.
2. Design and implement instruction and assessment for children in preschool.
3. Demonstrate the ability to create developmentally appropriate positive, productive classroom environments and appropriate classroom management strategies.
4. Demonstrate a knowledge of professional roles and responsibilities.
5. Demonstrate an understanding of differentiated instruction and diversity.
