We're excited about your interest in our Lions Athletics program. Participation in athletics
at Southwestern Assemblies of God University takes an individual with a special combination
of athletic and academic ability as well as a solid spiritual base.
The decision of where to continue your academic career is not an easy one. At Southwestern we believe we have the correct environment to allow you to be successful long after your academic and varsity athletic days are over. Academically, we have a wide variety of degrees in areas such as church ministries, bible, counseling, psychology, business, elementary and secondary education, history, music, communications, social studies, and professional studies.
Athletically, Southwestern is a scholarship program competing at the NAIA Division 1 level. The coaching staff is committed to performing at a national caliber level while allowing you to maximize your potential as a player. Varsity sports include women’s basketball, volleyball, cheerleading, men’s baseball, basketball, football, and soccer. In cooperation with the Equity in Athletics Disclosure Act (1994), SAGU publishes an annual report on its intercollegiate varsity athletic programs. This report is available in the office of the Athletic Director.
Spiritually, your decision to attend Southwestern will place you in an environment that will strengthen your walk with the Lord and provide you with the foundation to successfully impact the world for Christ throughout your life.
