SAGU is partnering with Strategic Missionary Resources to film an AIDS awareness video for the Global AIDS Commission.  Strategic Missionary Resources (SMR) is a new "team concept" in missions ministry developed in response to the growing need for the collaboration and networking of ministries and resources for effective evangelism on the mission field.

The short film raises AIDS awareness through a multi-cultural message.  Its voice-over script will enable producers to easily translate the video into various languages.  The first three languages it will be available in are English, Spanish and Asian.  With an alternate ending, one with a simple AIDS awareness message and one with an added evangelistic message, the film will be used as an evangelistic tool whenever possible.

With a targeted audience of older teens and college age, the film has a soccer theme, which corresponds with available print material.  SAGU Coach Jeremy Tosaya has coordinated a staged soccer game, which will be filmed at SAGU on Saturday, March 29.  SAGU athletes will star in the film and Professor Rob Price is assisting in the shoot.*

According to missionary Mike Powell, this film will be “a real powerful thing that will be used all over the world.”  The film is expected to be finished in approximately one month, at which time the resource will be available to missionaries at no cost.  To learn more about SMR, visit their website.

*Extras are needed for a cheering crowd at the game.  If you are interested, come to the SAGU soccer field at 10 AM on Saturday.
