On Friday, April 18, Assemblies of God General Superintendent Dr. George Wood was the special guest speaker for the SAGU chapel.  SAGU President Kermit S. Bridges informed students, “It is a treat and honor to have Dr. Wood; he is one of the most knowledgeable individuals you’ll be able to hear.”

Dr. Wood spoke on guidance, giving students practical instruction on finding the specific will of God in decisions they make.  He discussed a grid for ascertaining the will of God, in which there are five things for which to look.  First is supernatural revelation.  Next is worship, through prayer, His Word and corporate worship.  Sometimes God works though circumstances to guide His people.  The fourth thing to look for in seeking the will of God is confirmation of other believers.  Personal choice also factors into decision making.  “If you use these principles in your life and, most of all, be the right person, you’ll never have to worry about whether you’re in the right place doing the right thing,” said Wood.  “The Lord has promised that He would guide your steps.  The Lord has promised that He’d be with you to the end.  He keeps His Word.”

According to President Bridges, "Dr. Wood did an outstanding job and really connected with our student body.  I believe our students came away from chapel with a deep level of respect for our General Superintendent and an overall confidence in the leadership of the Assemblies of God."

There was also a special luncheon and Question & Answer sessions with Dr. Wood and the SAGU faculty and administrative staff.
