![]() Jonathan Boye earned his Masters degree in Counseling/Psychology from SAGU in 2004. Prior to coming to SAGU, Boye worked as a Teacher/Counselor at Magnolia Academy, which is a level 2 & 3 wilderness boot camp for misguided children. Boye remembers this period as a hard, but amazing time in his life. He later took a position at a more traditional wilderness program called Three Springs, where he was promoted from a counselor to a supervisor over a short term program called Leaps. The Lord began to stir in Jonathan’s heart a desire to go back to school in order to earn his Masters and become a counselor. Through a series of God-ordained events and encounters, Boye visited the SAGU campus and decided to attend as a student. Jonathan appreciated the integration of Bible and professional education that the SAGU Counseling/Psychology program offers. He is now a director of Mercy Children’s Clinic in Franklin, Tennessee. Mercy Children’s Clinic provides quality healthcare to all children, especially those without insurance, caring for thousands of Middle Tennessee children each year. The staff at the clinic believes in treating their patients through the process of holistic care, healing their bodies as well as their minds. The mission of Mercy Children’s Clinic is to "reflect the love and compassion of Jesus Christ by providing healthcare services to all children and support to their families." As the Director of Family Services, Boye runs the clinic’s psychiatry & psychology programs as well as special services. “The best part of my job,” said Boye, “is that I get to provide high quality services to those who couldn’t afford it otherwise.” At SAGU, he received the education necessary to provide this holistic care in a job that includes a mixture of management and therapy. Boye is also a licensed professional counselor with a mental health specialist provider specification. Jonathan and Rachel Boye have been married six years. They have a three-year-old daughter, Lauren Alaetha, and a ten month old daughter, Evangeline Celeste. |
