SAGU Soccer began their season preparation Saturday morning, August 2nd.  However, for the second year in a row, the season is not starting in the traditional fashion that most schools begin.

After two days of preparation, the SAGU Men’s and Women’s Soccer roster traveled to Monterrey, Mexico, with Head Coach Jeremy Tosaya and Asst. Coach Tim Grant.  Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday the SAGU Athletes led soccer clinics in the morning and helped with Kids Crusades in the afternoon with other church groups.

Making the trip this year for the women was JoAnna O’Conner, Tracy Griffin, Leah Richardson, Sarah Powell, Elyse James, Michelle Ellis, Leticia Lariz, Victoria Munoz, Daniela Garcia, and Kendall Murders.  For the men, Shea McPhail, Kyle Mendoza, Danny Martinez, and Fernando Lariz made the trip.

The Soccer Lions will open their season on August 25th with a Women’s and Men’s doubleheader against Dallas Christian College.
