Southwestern Assemblies of God University volleyball Sooner Athletic Conference Bacone College

It was a hard-fought battle every step of the way against Bacone College.  The Lady Lions came back from seven points behind in the first set to top the Lady Warriors in extra sets.  Sophomore Kali Shaw had 16 kills for the Lady Lions. Paulyae Dawkins added ten kills and three big blocks for SAGU.  Celi Bruce had 16 digs for SAGU and Sophia Ivy had 35 assists.

Once the Lady Lions got past the first set against JBU, they played hard and came back to win the third set. Sophia Ivy had a double/double with 36 assist and 10 digs. Kali Shaw led with 14 kills. Paulyae Dawkins had 13 kills.  Her hitting percentage was .571.

“We just could not get Paulyae the ball enough,” says head coach Hank Moore , “We lost to a very good, well-coached JBU team.  We will regroup and get ready to play the 14 th ranked team in the NAIA.  OCU is a very strong team, but this is a great opportunity for our young team to see where we are headed.”

On Friday, September 30, 2016 SAGU will travel to play Oklahoma City University.  Game time is at 7pm.  OCU is currently 15-3 overall and a perfect 6-0 in the SAC.
