Fort Worth, TX- Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) Softball opened its 2020 campaign in at the Cowtown Classic. The Lady Lions (2-3,0-0) had a mixed bag of results against some solid competition. SAGU defeated Bethany (Kan.) 3-2 and Friends (Kan.) 4-2. They fell to Tabor (Kan.) 3-2, Kansas Wesleyan 10-6, and Bethel (Kan.) 8-0.
Top Performers
- Cheyenne Fults ( SR/Waxahachie, TX ) was locked in at the plate as she hit .600 (9-15) for the tournament.
- Autumn Graham ( JR/Flower Mound, TX ) put together a couple of solid outings on the mound going 2-0 while giving up just four runs.
- The Lady Lions hit .256 as a squad during the five games.
- SAGU limited its mistakes as they committed just 3 errors for the weekend.
What’s Next
SAGU (2-3, 0-0) will play a four-game series, which will consist of two doubleheaders. The first game will begin on February 14th and be followed by another game at 4:00 pm. The February 15th contests will start at 12:00 pm and 2:00 pm.
