Master’s Degree in General Psychology
The Master of Science in General Psychology provides counseling knowledge and skills to serve human service agencies and institutions. This program is not designed for individuals seeking licensure in a counseling profession. Graduates of this program often work in community, church and para-church programs as caseworkers, intake specialists, and other roles including providing assistance to state licensed counseling professionals.
You will learn interviewing methods, active listening characteristics, and counseling interventions for diverse social and cultural contexts. You will be able to discuss legal, ethical and professional issues associated with lay ministry and the professional practice of counseling. You will also understand major theoretical approaches to counseling in marital and family therapy.
