Teacher Education Scholarship
New on-campus students who choose a degree in education qualify for a special scholarship. The scholarship awards $500 per semester and can be renewed. Graduates can save up to $4,000 over the span of a four-year degree. Awards vary by student.
Christian University
SAGU (Southwestern Assemblies of God University) is an accredited Christian university located in historic Waxahachie, Texas. Our main purpose as a Christian university is to prepare students for Christian leadership in their chosen vocations.
Educational Certification
We offer multiple Education bachelor’s degrees for those students wishing to teach in Christian, private, or public schools. These degrees will prepare you for state certification, with 99% of our graduates passing the Texas state certification exam. We offer the following education degrees:
- Elementary Education
- English Language Arts & Reading (Middle & Secondary)
- History & Social Studies (Middle & Secondary)
- Mathematics
- Physical Education
- Theatre

Our Financial Aid team goes above and beyond to help you secure grants, scholarships and other financial resources to make your college investment as affordable as possible. Students who graduate from SAGU graduate with 20% less debt on average than other private universities.
