Nyk Mason has been on both NCCAA and NAIA All-American teams for the 2018-2019 season. Mason was the only Sooner Athletic Conference players named on one of the three NCCAA All-American teams where he landed on the third team . The NAIA All-American list was released today where he was an Honorable Mention All-American ranking nationally in field goal percentage at 9th shooting 60.6% from the field, 41st in points per game at 17.1 ppg, and 48th in defensive rebounds per game with 5.2.

Mason was also named second All-SAC team where he is 6th in the league in scoring with 17.1 ppg and 7th in total points with 495. He ranked in the top 15 in the SAC for the following categories; 2nd in field goal percentage (60.6%), 7th in double-doubles with 5, 7th in total rebounds per game with 6.9, 8th with 5.21 defensive rebounds per game, 9th in total rebounds with 200, 11th with a total of 19 blocks and blocks per game with 0.67, 12th in total steals with 37, 13th in steals per game with 1.28, 13th in offensive rebounds with 1.69, 13th in assists per game with 2.55 and 13th in total assists with 74.

He will return for his sophomore season next as the team’s leader in minutes, field goals made, field goal percentage, free throws made and attempted, offensive and defensive rebounds, assists, second in points, blocks, and steals. He also had double-digit scoring nights in 26 of their 31 games and will look to take another big leap going into next year helping the Lions return to the NAIA National tournament that ended with Georgetown defeating Carroll Monday night for the championship.
