Homecoming Basketball Game & Texas Snowstorm

Come out and support Lions Basketball in an exciting Homecoming kick-off game in our very own Sheaffer Gymnasium! As per a Nelson University tradition, following the first home basket of the men’s basketball season, fans launch an avalanche of ping pong balls from the bleachers, covering the gymnasium floor in a Texas Snowstorm.

Each year on the lawn in front of Collins Hall, students get together for music, comedy and snacks. A make- shift stage is built. Couches and blankets adorn the grass. And students enjoy an evening under the Texas stars.

Pregame Tailgate Carnival & Entrepreneur Fair

Join the pregame festivities at our Tailgate Carnival at Lumpkins Stadium. Also taking place will be the 3rd Annual Entrepreneur Fair hosted by Career Development! Various groups from past and present will be gathering to reconnect in a fun-filled time of games and activities for all ages. There will be cotton candy, ballon animals, bouncy castles, dunking booth, and a chili cook- off, just to name a few!

Nelson Women’s Volleyball

The Lady Lions will return to the Lions Athletic Complex on Friday, November 1, for a thrilling senior night matchup against Langston University at 7:00 PM. With a win, Nelson University can claim the outright SAC Regular Season Championship title, marking another historic achievement for the program. The Lady Lions play again Saturday afternoon at 1pm.
